Boost is an exciting upgrade that increases mid-range performance on your Mercury outboard without requiring any changes to the propeller or hardware.
With a software update, Boost can improve acceleration from standstill to top speed by 5% to 21%*, helping anglers get to the fishing grounds faster and giving leisure boaters a more dynamic boating experience.
*The percentage improvement varies depending on boat type and configuration, operating conditions and other environmental factors. Upgrading to Boost does not affect the vessel's top speed or the time it takes to get on the plane.

How Boost works
Boost activates automatically when the engine's throttle position exceeds 97% below 5000 rpm, and when the throttle is increased quickly enough to trigger the function.
Optimisation tips
To experience the full potential of Boost, the boat should be set up with the optimal propeller and correct weight distribution. Mercury technologies such as Active Trim can further optimise performance by automatically adjusting the trim for better efficiency. Environmental factors such as weather, water conditions and weight on board can also affect how Boost activates and performs.
Boost is only active during mid-range acceleration and affects neither the engine's maximum horsepower output nor the vessel's maximum top speed.
GPS enhancement
Vessels equipped with Mercury SmartCraft GPS enable more precise activation and deactivation of Boost for optimal performance.

Boost is expected to be installed on Mercury outboards for the following MY2027 EMEA models*:
175, 200, 225, 250 and 300 hp Pro XS
250, 300 and 350 hp Verado
